The Oldies Music Board » Last Original Member Of The Moody Blues Is Gone » Today 4:16 pm |
His name was Mike Pinder and he was one of the founding members of the group that had hits with "Go Now" and "Nights In White Satin." Pinder became a master of the Mellotron, and introduced John Lennon to the instrument, leading it to appear on Strawberry Fields Forever.
It was Pinder's voice you hear narrating the poem at the end of the Moody's classic nine-minute long "Satin."
He was 82.
