Interesting that you picked up on punk. The Cars Just What i Needed bsasically steals the intro. Also the lyrics of Yummy Yummy Yummy are interesting. Ooh you're such a sweet thing, good enough to eat thing. In case you think that is innocent, take Chewy Chewy. Do it to me, Chewy, chew me out of my mind.
I was exactly at the age then those records where aimed at and of course sailed over my 9 / 10 year old head, I read once that when they were put together the writers would have a real laugh thinking how many double entendres they could throw in there. From my point of view have carried them with me from that age and love them all, es 1-2 -3 Red Light which is another one with hidden meaning.

I would have begun on internet around 2000 as well. First person I ever had an e mail from was That Boy John who was a member here. Not long after met Dennis1947 and his lovely wife who were out here on business. Was amazed one day to get a phone call from Gator Rouge, who I think old timers would remember wasn't the most sociable type. He had a wonderful intellect did the Gator, bless his soul. Have made many friends such as John, Linda , Wayne and quite a few others. Don't get here as much as in years gone bye but still seems to be a great collection of very knowlegeable people.

Fool To Care by Joe Barry sounded so much like Fats Domino he asked his manager when he recorded it.
Joe Henderson sounded like Brook Benton on Snap Your Fingers.
Barry Young sounded so much like Dean Martin one One Has My Name, a story went around that Dean had his career scuttled.

The Oldies Music Board » Study: Your favorite pop songs likely trace from when you were 14 » January 3, 2021 10:46 pm |
That would be 1972 for me. While I do love plenty of music from that year, I probably listen to 1968 - 1971 songs more these days. Will say though that the earlier songs don't have the memories attached to them that the songs when I was 14 do.

Thank you for the kind words Lorne. Yes it has been difficult , doubled by the fact it would have been her birthday this week, right on top of Christmas.

Picked up a Dan Fogelberg Best Of CD a few months ago and thought of Roger. Must be a few years ago now he passed, , the years seem to fly by at turbo speed past a certain age. Time of year for thinking of people that have passed like Roger and Gator Rouge , Wes 50's and Ron Smith of course. Must say losing my wife a few months ago and also having my own close call last August has made me very reflective .

John Stewart said once it was related to suburban life. A couple have married and been on honeymoon not long before, one morning they stare across breakfast table at each other and realize their life as a married couple in suburbia is starting for real and it's not going be like a fairy tale of white knights and roses every day of married life.

Good to know there is a ounce of memory still there somewhere. Not the only song about clothing they wrote, also a certain little song about Paul Vance's young daughter and her " Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini " Tracy by Cuff Links was another song they wrote.
