The Great American Songbook!

Since I am now in my 80's, I heard many of the great standard songs of the 30's and 40's as I was growing up.  My Dad always had music going on the radio and I was somewhat musically inclined anyway.  That is why as I wander around 'youtube' I look for old favorites from composers like Jerome Kern, Cole Porter and others from those days.  That's why when I saw the song "Moonlight Serenade" I clicked on it and was quite surprised.  The singer was an artist who had been a force in the 1970's but I hadn't really been a fan of.  That's why I was really impressed by Carly Simon singing "Moonlight Serenade" live in a cruise ship lounge.  It just seemed to connect with me.  So I tracked down some other songs from back then that she sang, like "Where Or When" and "I Only Have Eyes For You" and just listened and enjoyed.  Look them up yourselves and take a listen.

"Moonlight Serenade" - excellent melody, excellent orchestra, excellent singer... What more can be added?
