Ray Charles or The Ray Charles Singers or someone else?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6X4y6FuArio

Czech state television reports that this tune was composed by Ray Charles.
I believe that when the name Charles is mentioned, it is possibly from the repertoire of The Ray Charles Singers.
Your opinion?
Does that tune sound familiar? Do you know who composed it? Do you know what it's called in English?

I don't know the song, but it does sound much more like the kind of song that the Ray Charles Singers would do -- and since their leader did compose songs, I think it's likely to have been written by him.

Re: Ray Charles or The Ray Charles Singers or someone else?

Just to include some trivia, Ray Charles (Charles Raymond Offenberg) of the Ray Charles Singers sang the theme song to “Three’s Company” along with Julia Rinker-Miller.  The story is that after hearing John Ritter, Suzanne Somers and Joyce DeWitt sing the theme song, the producers immediately hired two professional singers.

Re: Ray Charles or The Ray Charles Singers or someone else?

I put the problem here and searched further. And "Uncle Google" and "Aunt youtube" helped me.
It is originally the opening and closing song of the American 1978 TV special "Cinderella At The Palace".
But I couldn't find any written confirmation that Ray Charles really composed the music.
Can you help me find it on the internet?

Re: Ray Charles or The Ray Charles Singers or someone else?

I found the following caption at the end of the 1978 "Cinderella At The Palace" TV special:
"Special music material and choral direction - Ray Charles"
I believe Charles Raymond Offenberg is meant.
And also - I found on bmi.com that Ray Charles (Charles Raymond Offenberg) composed the song "Cinderella At The Palace".

It remains a mystery to me how the song got through the iron curtain to us in the then socialist Czechoslovakia, when it was nowhere on the single, on the LP and in the music charts.

I'm glad that you found this info, but I have felt the same way about many other songs that you've asked about before ... I've wondered how they became known in Czechoslovakia when they've been quite obscure here.

This is a Czechoslovak TV show in which the Czech version of the song was used. It was broadcast in the years 1983-1991.

Always at the end of the show, here at 1:03.48 - 1:06:18

American show "Cinderella At The Palace" was later also broadcast on British and Dutch television.
And it is possible that the cultural department of the American Embassy in Prague also had the videotape.
This department probably also lent audio and video media to potential interested parties.
That's probably how the original recording got to our country.
