Never mind "I Want To Hold Your Hand." It's almost more like "I Want To Hold Your Cane." 

Those of us who grew up with The Beatles, the very symbol of youth back then, will likely be feeling their age as they realize Ringo Starr turns 83 on July 7th. 

He's still working on music, and is about to appear with Paul McCartney on a remake of "Let It Be," part of a new Dolly Parton LP.

Even Ringo admits he never thought he'd be around this long, as evidenced when he just 23 years old and the group was opening for British singing star Helen Shapiro.

"Between sets, he'd strike up conversation with her band — and can still remember a surprising revelation from their chats.

"I was talking to the band and I said, 'Well, how old are you?' And the guy says, 'I'm 40.' '40?! And you're still doing it?'" Starr recalls... "Little did I know! It's far out. But that's always stuck with me."
