"Live Aid" Concert To Become A Stage Play

It seems almost contradictory to think of Live Aid as a stage play, but with music from David Bowie, Elton John, Bob Dylan, the Who, Queen, Diana Ross, Paul McCartney and more, you can be sure the soundtrack will be terrific.

Original organizer Bob Geldof was reluctant to give his approval at first, but relented when he saw what the producers were planning, including incorporating a real-life love story into the show - and that some of the profits will go to the Live Aid charity.

"It better not be shit,” Geldof said, explaining that he was keen for the show not to feel like a series of tribute acts. “I wouldn’t have anything to do with that. So there isn’t a person dressed up as Freddie wearing a crap moustache. The songs drive the drama along."

"Just For One Day" will be staged in England initially, but there's always hope - like the famous concert itself - it will eventually be seen in other countries as well.
