The song doesn't completely make sense, but that doesn't stop American Songwriter from trying to assign it some meaning. And by the way, that "Detroit radio station" referred to in the piece was actually the legendary CKLW in Windsor, Ont., where equally legendary music director Rosalie Trombley ("The Girl With The Golden Ear") added it to the playlist, and almost singlehandedly turned it into a hit.
