Clarence 'Frogman' Henry, of 'Ain't Got No Home' fame, has died

He joined his first band while still in high school, made the national charts with "Ain't Got No Home" at the age of 19, and was scheduled to perform later this month at the 2024 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. He was 87.

Re: Clarence 'Frogman' Henry, of 'Ain't Got No Home' fame, has died

I first heard "Ain't Got No Home" through a wonderful cover by The Band on their Moondog Matinee album. Levon Helm didn't feel comfortable singing the line about being a 'lonely girl', so he stuck with the 'lonely frog' reference throughout.
