I love "Please Come to Boston", and knew that Loggins had gone on to have considerable success as a writer of primarily country songs. But I hadn't realized that he also wrote another popular song I really like, Three Dog Night's "Pieces of April".

It's mentioned in Lorne's linked article, but I think it's interesting that Dave Loggins' passing was noted by Sports Illustrated, thanks to his writing the theme music for The Masters golf tournament. Unusual for a musician to make their pages, but that tune earned him an obit in the iconic magazine.
