Heart and Soul - Documentary by Kenny Vance

Check your local PBS stations for this presentation.  For those in the Buffalo NY TV market, it will be shown this coming Sunday (July 21st) at 4:30 pm.

Here's a description of the content, followed by a link to the trailer for the film.

Kenny Vance (Jay and the Americans) sits down with members of the Chantels, Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers, Little Anthony and the Imperials, the Heartbeats, the Dubs and the Jive Five. They were some of the first teenage Black Rhythm and Blues artists who crossed over, had mainstream hits, toured the north and south, appeared on national television, never made much money and influenced popular music to this day. Through intimate conversations and insights curated from eighty hours of verite footage, these seminal artists become our confidants, too, and we come to care as they bring their triumphs and tragedies to life.

Thanks for the head's up. I would have missed this one. I'll set my DVR for it. It looks great.

Just found out that this documentary is available on the PBS website.

Even better, you don't need a member, or a VPN for us Canadians, to watch
