Original Doobie Bros. To Release 1st New Album In 50 Years

It's been a long time since names like Tom Johnston and Michael McDonald were Taking It To The Streets, but they're going to try it again. After a successful reunion tour, the original members of the Doobie Brothers are coming out with their first new LP in half a century.

The album is called "Walk This Road" and while there's no immediate release date, a new single should be out early in 2025, with the entire LP following.

Re: Original Doobie Bros. To Release 1st New Album In 50 Years

“With impeccable harmonies, ripping solos, and the ability to convey the emotion hidden inside the craftsmanship of their technically demanding musical arrangements, The Doobie Brothers proved their flame burns strong as ever..."  That's the truth - great band with fairly good diversity in their melodies - some mellow, some outrageously great rock.
The Stampede album was a turning point for the band, their last before lead singer Tom Johnston had to leave due to health problems. From their Stampede album, one song in particular is a "sleeper" - I Cheat The Hangman; the melody is even spooky-sounding but very well done.  I don't know what Johnson's health problems were but apparently he overcame those issues.  The Michael McDonald era began with their next album, Takin' It To The Streets.  I think that if they are even only half as good as they were in their peak, they will put on a great show.
Go Doobs!!
