Kenny Marco - R.I.P.

I knew Kenny when he first started out in Brantford, Ontario in 1960-ish. So sad to hear of his passing.

Kenneth John Marco Obituary
From the moment he made his debut on February, 14, 1947 in Brantford, ON until his final appearance on May 24, 2025 in Saskatoon, SK, Kenneth John Marco lived a life full of love for all mankind that was joyfully expressed through his first and everlasting language: music.
Born to Anne (DeFrancisco) and Jack Marco, owner of a Brantford, Ontario music shop, Ken was fortunate to have three loving brothers, Willam (who passed in 2009), Joseph (Joan) and Frank (Darlene). The four boys became further bonded at the passing of their father, Jack Marco in 1952 when Kenny was only 5.

Ken started his life as a professional musician at the age of 17, developing a long and storied career playing on the road and stage (and sometimes under it) with The Beau Keys, Grant Smith & the Power, Dr. Music, Motherlode, Blood, Sweat and Tears, David Clayton-Thomas, Cotton, The Ken Marco Trio and more. While living in California, Ken played guitar for Etta James on her 1973 album and sat in with the Tonight Show Band. His talent brought him opportunities and amazing adventures and a couple of crazy brothers, Steve, Smitty, Stoney and Mouse, whose friendships always fed Ken's soul.

During a 1984 Western Canadian tour, Ken met his wife, Judith Anne Chiki and shortly relocated to Saskatoon. Ken showed boundless love for Judy and her daughters Kerry Fox, Kimberley Fyfe and Lesley Reynolds. He was THE coolest Grandpa for Brydan Connor Reynolds, Olivia Anne Sarich, Louis Pearse Sarich and Greyson Edward Sarich. Grandpa Kenny loved taking his grandchildren across Western Canada to enjoy camping "in the bosom of Mother Nature". Ken had very special relationships with his son-in-laws, Danial Brent Reynolds and Richard James Fyfe, despite them not being Red Wing fans. Thank you to Sierra, AJ, Dr. Kumar and Dr. McMillan at RUH for the support and care the gave our Dad. Donations in Ken's memory can be made to Royal University Hospital Emergency Department, https://ruhf.org/donate/
A celebration will take place in honour of Ken this summer in Saskatoon, for further details email k.fyfe@sasktel.net
