J.C. Fogerty Wants The Guitar He Gave Away To A Kid Decades Ago Back

In this wide ranging interview about his time with Creedence Clearwater Revival, John Fogerty talks about getting his songs back, his legacy, why he came up with so many hits in such a short time and one of his biggest regrets - the day he gave away the guitar he played on so many famous tunes.

"One of the things I talk about now is getting my Rickenbacker back. It’s very symbolic. I now understand. I didn’t know then — I gave that guitar away. Why would you do such a thing? I played this guitar at Woodstock! And I wrote songs on that guitar. I played it on so many of the records — “Up Around the Bend,” for instance.

I gave the guitar to a 12-year-old boy that asked me if I had any guitars he could have. And I was so forlorn and down in the dumps, thinking I could give away all my problems and just start over.
