I tend to stay on top of entertainment news via TV and online, so I was a bit surprised I hadn’t heard about Monti Rock III’s passing until I saw the “Passages” segment on last Sunday’s CBS Mornings Show. (Rock actually passed on Feb. 23). I found him to be quite entertaining on late-night talk shows, and I enjoyed his stage persona as leader of Disco Tex & The Sex-O-Lettes.  I bought the single “Get Dancin’”, which was broken into two parts over sides A & B. I spliced them together for my 1975 mixtape, and I played it today as a tribute to DT.
