Lead Singer Of "Dr. Hook" Dies At 76
His name was Dennis Locorriere, and he was co-lead singer of what was once known as Dr. Hook And The Medicine Show, later shortened to just Dr. Hook. It was his voice you heard on hits like "Sylvia's Mother" and "Sharing the Night Together." He'd been suffering from kidney disease.
Even though it was fellow band member Ray Sawyer who sang their biggest hit - "The Cover Of The Rolling Stone" - it seems only apropos to link to the obit on that site.

Hope this works. Dennis back stage at a Bill Wyman and Rhythm Kings concert. He was the special quest.

Good entertainers with some memorable songs
My favourite was "When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman"
In watching clips of the band during their heyday I got the feeling that both Dennis and his partner-in-crime Ray Sawyer really enjoyed the "fruits of their labour" that came with being rock stars
