Chuck Berry Special Airing Feb. 29th On PBS

A special on the late rock pioneer Chuck Berry will air on PBS Feb. 29th. (Some markets may get it at a different time, such are the vagaries of the PBS schedule.) This isn't a documentary, per se, more like a rockumentary. It showcases the famous artists who were influenced by and performed Berry's work, including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Linda Ronstadt, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and more.

Danny Glover does the narration and the show includes some vintage clips, many of which have never been broadcast before.

"Testament to their love and respect for Berry, all footage use has been granted by the artist or the artist’s estate and some have been provided from their personal archives. Much of the footage has been digitally enhanced from the original source to present it in the best possibly quality for the first time.

I have to say that of all the people featured in this brief trailer, I barely recognized Johnny Rivers. Time really does fly.

Sounds like the old Hail, Hail Rock N Roll movie.
