Petula Clark Considers Pandemic Version Of "Downtown"

It may be more of a joke, but in an article in the British newspaper The Mirror, the great Pet Clark (now 87! Yikes!) talks about a host of things, including how she might re-record a special pandemic version of her signature song.

“Someone suggested this,” she giggles, before that voice rings out: “When you’re alone and life is making you lonely you CAN’T EVEN go downtown!”

Like the recent Neil Diamond re-write of Sweet Caroline, I'd love to hear that!

She also reveals more about her relationship with John & Yoko, how she was actually in the background on "Give Peace A Chance," why she was booed in two languages during a concert in Montreal, how she fended off a horny Elvis Presley for Karen Carpenter and why Petula isn't even her real name.

Petula Clark considers making pandemic-inspired re-make of hit song Downtown

That was great!  It started really funny then got poignant real fast.  Made you really think.  Very clever and done well.
