Fifty years ago - Canada’s answer to Woodstock

Fifty years ago, this August, up to 80,000 young people crowded together near Bowmanville for Canada’s answer to the 1969 Woodstock Festival.

granted it was only a few weeks after festival express, which was a monetary disaster for his production company, but i'm wondering if ken walker might not have had a hand in this, regardless?

I wouldn't know, but I did some searching and found the following article ... it indicates that his partnership with John Brower was dissolved the previous year.

wow, thanks lorne, all sorts of great info! who knows what their relationship was, if any, after the split, but maybe it's possible walker could still have been involved. as you probably know, bill graham was hired as a consultant by the promoters of woodstock. it's possible, i suppose, walker could have been involved in a similar capacity too, at strawberry fields.

generally, promoters don't get much credit, and usually for good reason aren't always seen in a positive light. but there are a few who do things right, and seem to have a genuine interest in arts and artists. unless i missed something, ken walker would seem to be one of those. i'm perplexed as to why he isn't in some sort of hall of fame, somewhere. or, is he?
