2nd Verse Not Same As The 1st: The Original "Henry VIII I Am" Lyrics

By now you've probably heard that Herman's Hermits #1 hit from 1965 had Peter Noone singing only a single verse from the song, which was written in 1910. (Hence the "second verse, same as the first," line.). For years, I never really thought about it much, but now thanks to the Internet, I've found the original words to the tune - and I can see why they just did that one part!

I can't imagine these ever being included in their version and the old fashioned English would have totally changed the entire thing. Instead, it stands as one of the great singalong songs of the 60s. No wonder they left so much out.
