The Huge Artists Rejected By Their Own Record Companies

I found this on a Soundcloud site and it says it's from the 1980s. It's a 3 and a half minute feature report from a radio station in Toronto that tells the story of an undercover experiment to see if record company executives could tell who their own successful artists are. The fact that they ended up rejecting two of the biggest names in modern music history as either not yet ready for primetime or simply not marketable speaks volumes.

As the guy who put up the piece notes, he wouldn't be surprised if things haven't changed all that much. It's short but revealing.
