Muscian, song writer & producer Stan Kesler who got his start at Sun records in Memphis has passed.
Mr. Kesler co-wrote several songs recorded by Elvis Presley during his Sun period & later became a session player employed by legendary Sun owner Sam Philips. He also played bass guitar on the Jerry Lee Lewis 1957 hit Great Balls Of Fire.
The Mississippi native went on to form his own record labels & produced the mid 60's favourite Wooly Bully by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs.. Mr. Kesler retired in the early 90's. He succumbed to bone caner in hospital in Memphis earlier this week. He knew & worked with them all in & around Memphis for decades. A life well lived.
May he RIP
