In my previous post, I mentioned how my 5KW radio station could reach all the way from Butte, MT to Connecticut on Sunday nights. When my friend e-mailed to my reply to him, he also enclosed a copy of the KXLF "Fun Filled Forty" song listing. I have to take full credit for the survey, because I compiled it and even was the one who typed it and ran it off on the mimeograph machine. Looking it over, I found a bunch of songs that rated with us higher than they did on the national charts, Billboard (BB) and Cashbox (CB). Here they are.....
Probably December, 1964
XL FF40 - Song & Artist - National ranking
#1 White Cliffs Of Dover -- Sir Raleigh & Coupons #145 (CB)
#12 Toy Heart -- Eddie McDuff ----
#17 Coming On Too Strong -- Wayne Newton #65 (BB)
#18 Anywhere The Girls Are -- Fantastic Baggys ---
#19 No Other Baby -- Paul & Paula ---
#20 Talk To Me Baby -- Barry Mann #94 (BB)
#24 Lovely, Lovely -- Chubby Checker #70 (BB)
#26 Hey-Da-Da-Dow -- Dolphins #69 (CB)

#30 Do What You Do, Do Well -- Ned MIller #52 (BB)
#32 Mi Amore, Mi Vida -- Jerry Fuller ---
#40 Dusty - Rag Dolls #48 (CB)
Most of our records came from a service that supplied them to small stations around the country.
I checked and all of the above are available to listen to on You-Tube.

Yes, you really had a lot of them that didn't make the national charts. Of that list, I've heard only four - #24, #26, #30 and #40.
