There's so much known about the Beatles, that maybe this won't come as a surprise to anyone here. But I have to admit I'd never heard of it before.
It claims George Harrison was so reluctant to release a single off his first solo LP "All Things Must Pass," that he almost gave "My Sweet Lord" away to a very familiar colleague. (Although considering the "He's So Fine" drama that followed, maybe his first instinct was right!)
Why George Harrison almost gave his first solo No 1 song to another artist

Another aspect of this story is that the other artist obviously didn't see a similarity between My Sweet Lord and He's So Fine. It's interesting to me how the similarity wasn't that noticeable, and yet it was definitely there. Also, I wonder what would have happened if My Sweet Lord had been included on All Things Must Pass but not released as a single. If that had led to it not receiving airplay, perhaps there wouldn't have even been any legal action -- or if there still had been, it might have been possible to reach a settlement more easily.
