What a terrible week this has been for members of old rock groups. The latest (and fifth one this week) is Les McKeown, the lead vocalist of the 70s boy band The Bay City Rollers. He was just 65. No cause of death was given, but the family announcement indicated it happened "suddenly."
I was never a fan of this manufactured group but there's no arguing with their success. For a brief time, they were amongst the most popular groups - especially among teenage girls - in the world.
Les McKeown, frontman of 70s teen sensation Bay City Rollers, dies aged 65
The others:
Joe Long, bassist for the Four Seasons, dies at 88
Jim Steinman, Writer for Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler & More Dies At 73
The Kingsmen's "Louie Louie" Guitarist Gone At 77
Longest Serving Member Of Poco Dies At 75
