Kenny Rogers R.I.P.

I hesitated to post this, thinking it might be another false rumour, but it appears to be true. Kenny has apparently passed away at the age of 81.  I enjoyed his work with the First Edition as well as his many solo works and especially his duets with Dolly Parton and others.  Rest peacefully, Mr. Rogers.

Re: Kenny Rogers R.I.P.

Two days ago I was looking for music in my past that I loved and played "What Are We Doin' In Love" , "Islands In The Stream" and "Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer".  Great duets.  Great songs.

Those would be my favorites of Kenny's as a country artist.  "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town" and "Something's Burning"  would be my favorites with the First Edition.

RIP Kenny

Re: Kenny Rogers R.I.P.

Kenny Rogers had an amazing ability to move from one type of music to another. The following doo wop-flavoured song was his first hit ... although it didn't make the Hot 100, it was successful enough that it led to him appearing on American Bandstand, and it reached #43 on CHUM.
