Astrid Kirchherr, Woman Behind Beatles Style Setting Haircut, Is Gone

Her most famous contribution to society was that famous Beatle haircut, that started a fashion trend that defined the 60s and created endless arguments between parents (who hated it) and teens (who desperately wanted to have their hair done that same way.)

She passed away from cancer at 81.

Astrid Kirchherr, photographer of the Beatles' early days in Hamburg, dies at 81

What a bio.  What an influence.  What a small world..."Kirchherr broke up with her German boyfriend, Klaus Voormann - who became a notable musician and designer in his own right - and took up with Sutcliffe."

She was such a major influence! I've got two signed prints of her early photos of the Beatles in Hamburg. She was certainly a great photographer. Klaus did go on to have a great career in music and stayed close to the Beatles. A funny aside....Did anyone know he played bass on Cheech & Chong's Basketball Jones?
