Rare Earth

I was  huge fan of Rare Earth during their heyday. I've always liked full-throated singers like Joe Cocker, John Fogerty and Eric Burdon, and I guess it was Pete Rivera's (a.k.a. Pete Hoorelbeke) pipes that did it for me as well. I've been following him on Facebook and he's posted some new music that's really good. I'm absolutely astounded by his voice as it doesn't seem to have lost any of its power and Pete has to be in his 70's. Check out this recent video as evidence. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaH4a9Q9hdQ Pete is playing London Ontario in May and you can bet your (snow) boots that I'll be there.

Re: Rare Earth

We  have an Italian fest here every May and for years Larry Raspberry (Gentrys/ Highsteppers) would come back to Memphis and bring an "all star" group of oldies musicians. One year Peter Rivera was one of the group and I must say he was great. He did a couple of Rare Earth tunes and played drums. I brought a Album for him to autograph which he did with pleasure.
