October 5th An Incredible Day In Rock Music

I came across this list somewhat by accident, but was amazed by just how many things happened on the same day in music history.

Consider:

Bobby Darin's Mack The Knife hit #1 on this date in 1959 and remained in that spot for an astounding nine weeks. And that's just the start. Among those making news in different years on the day: Johnny Cash, ABBA, Olivia Newton-John, The Bee Gees, David Cassidy, The Temptations, The Beatles and more.

Who knew that so much of significance happened over the years on October 5th?

October 5th a very busy day in Music History

Re: October 5th An Incredible Day In Rock Music

I create my own rock & pop music calendar. My other items for this day are:

Neil Sedaka records "Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen" (1961).
"Love Me Do", the Beatles' first single, is released in UK (1962).
The Knickerbokers record "Lies" (1965).
Tom Jones records "Green Green Grass Of Home" (1966).
The Who perform on "The Ed Sullivan Show" (1969).
"Led Zeppelin III" album is released (1970).
And many more...
