Admittedly, it's almost impossible to pick just three. But if pressed, I might select the following. (Although I could probably change my mind tomorrow. And these are just off the top of my head. Those are good choices, too, although I have to admit, I've never quite thought of Streisand as a rock singer, although she did have a few Top 40 hits. But what an amazing voice!

Yes, she's thought more as a pop star than rock. My exact sentiments but I will never forget her performance of "You'll Never Walk Alone" which capped the 2001 Grammy Awards - WOW!! Lots of clapping. Bravado and kudos to her for her strength - she is a classic textbook case of paranoia/stage fright which is why she rarely does live performances. Super memorable performance and no one could have done it better.

Interesting no one has mentioned Diana Ross. I thought she had a very distinctive voice, but I wouldn't call it one of the greatest - although there's no denying The Supremes remain one of the finest so-called "girl groups" of all time.
