Folk haven Yorkville changed Lightfoot before its own transformation

Going back to when I was growing up in the 1970s, I had the impression that Toronto's Yorkville area had an amazing music scene, even though back then I only knew about it from occasional references I'd hear on the radio or see in the newspaper. Here's a good article on just how great it was.

Check out this video from the CBC, shot in Toronto's Yorkville in 1967. Far out, man!

Yorkville was a hippie haven in 1967

But if you really want to see an example of the so-called "Generation Gap," check out this buttoned-down story by a reporter from the same network that year. What a square!
