Sam Moore RIP
The last remaining member of the iconic soul duo of Sam and Dave - Sam Moore has passed at his Florida home.
Mr. Moore was 89
His family said Mr. Moore had undergone surgery in hospital last week and things took a turn for the worse
Sam and Dave made a lasting impact on the music scene with their hits Hold On I'm Comin' and Soul Man.
Mr. Moore's musical partner Dave Prater passed away in 1988 as the result of a car accident

As I understand it, Mr Moore and Mr Prater were estranged for several years after their big hit days... Perhaps now, they'll see fit to "make up" on the other side of the pearly gates.

Like a lot of soul, their music is not appreciated, exclusively, by one generation - many of the soul songs are inter-generational, not a flash in the pan. Some of the best!!
