The last remaining member of "The Band" has passed away at age 87.  I've followed Garth's HUGE influence on The Band since he first appeared as a member of The Hawks at the Summer Gardens in Port Dover in 1962(?). Am currently reading "This Wheel's On Fire" with Levon Helm.  Levon's admiration for Garth was immeasurable. Garth's mastery of that Lowrey organ, not to mention his saxophone, accordion and various other instruments were a huge part of The Band's success.
