The 1970's Supremes hit "Stoned Love" has always been a favourite of mine 
To this day I can't get enough of it
So today I was surprised to find out that the song comes with a mislabelled title!

The songs writer, Kenny Thomas gave his creation the title "Stone Love" meaning a love that is absolute and total.
Somewhere between the catalogue department & the pressing plant at Motown the letter "d" was added

It was a typo that caused a bit of a stir 
Some radio stations where reluctant or outright refused to play it
And Merv Griffin cancelled an appearance by the Jean Terrell led Supremes because of it

I never knew all that until today
