Baby it's you. The Shirelles from 61 or Smith 69. much different music from each time span. I'm voting Smith, I like the edge to that version

I'm torn between Shirelles and Smith. Both are good in different ways.

I like the version by that obscure little band from across the pond, The Beatles. The harmony vocals are kind of cheesy but I think Lennon's recorded vocals are as strong as Smith's Gayle McCormick's, although her performance of the song on the Sullivan show remains heart attack material.

Gayle McCormick's solo hit was even better, although it wasn't a huge charter. But another great performance.
