Oldies Vs. Classic Rock - Where's The Line?

It's an interesting question posed by a Poughkeepsie, New York radio station, except I really don't think the 'line' is that hard to distinguish.

I never thought about making it a song by song classification. I kinda made it simple pre '64 oldies; post '64 classic rock

after seeing a canadian filmmaker's excellent documentary, released last year, called "what is classic rock?" i  assuredly can tell you the "line" may be quite a bit more blurry than you think.

Re: Oldies Vs. Classic Rock - Where's The Line?

I agree with the writer. When people ask me what music I like I always say 60s, 70s and 80s oldies, classic soul and classic rock. There's a difference to me.  And like the writer, to me  it's the feel of the song.
