just trying out Sirius XM trial and have been enjoying the comments they have between songs from the artists. 
Ringo was saying that when they were about to record A Little Help From My Friends he refused to sing the written lyric John & Paul had written. It was originally "what would you say if I sang out of key would you throw tomatoes at me.." He said in the old days all the kids needed was any excuse to throw things at them so he wasn't about to sing that. So it was changed to "would you stand up and walk out on me.."
Paul mentioned the kids at the Cavern Club throwing pennies at them including the Teddy Boys who were trying to really hit them. He said they started picking up the change which often was more money than were being paid to play!
