am i bored, or what?

i only ask this because i imagine there have probably been a book or three written about american bandstand, and somebody may have dug the answer up. has anyone ever documented who the first person was to tell dick clark "it's got a good beat, and you can dance to it"?

Re: am i bored, or what?

Can't tell you the answer to your question, but I came across this in one of those old teen magazines my older sister used to collect. It appears to be from 1963 and offers the names and addresses of the Bandstand regular dancers who were on the show at the time.

Wow, have times changed. I can't imagine publishing the names and addresses of any teenagers in any publication today. We live in a very different world. And no, I doubt they still live there, if all of them are still with us. But it's a reminder of just how famous these people were at the time.
