Commander Cody

This is a pretty good article about their seminal first album. I don't think they get enough credit for turning rock audiences on to country but at least for me, the Airmen, the Blue Ridge Rangers and Leon Russell helped me see the light.

good article, indeed. i'll have to look into whether the creeper is still around, now that my memory of his name has been refreshed.

it would be hard to argue their debut lp wasn't the band's best record, but regardless,  "hot licks, cold ateel, and truckers favorites" remains my favorite. perhaps because it's got less ozone and more diesel, but i couldn't really put a pawprint on exactly why.
