Can you recognize a rock song with this melody?

https://soundcloud.com/user-715225765/a-czech-adaptation-from-the-seventies
This is a Czech recording.
Please, do you know who recorded it in English originally ?
(maybe Chinn / Chapman composed this song in the seventies)

Re: Can you recognize a rock song with this melody?

As usual, I'm not able to answer your question. But I did find the following list of songs written by Chinn and Chapman that might help ... I'm wondering if it might have been a British hit that I don't know, although there were parts of the song that sounded a bit familiar to me.

Lorne,
Thank you for your help.
As I wrote, the Chinn / Chapman pair is not sure.

And I just found this:

I have to listen to them.

Going from Lorne's list, it kinda sounds like Lay Back in the Arms of Someone.

Thank you for your interest.
A music fan from Germany helped me this time.
It is Spy - "Why, Kiss Me Goodbye"

Re: Can you recognize a rock song with this melody?

I'm glad that a fan was able to help you. At one time on the old board, we had s few regulars from other European countries ... the ones that I recall being Germany, the Netherlands, UK, in addition to you in the Czech Republic. But at some point it occurred to me that I was no longer seeing the other ones on the old board any more, and so we no longer had the same amount of knowledge there about records that had been popular in Europe but not elsewhere. Glad that we still have you, and I hope that eventually some other Europeans will join us as well.
