I was watching a show on the cable channel Reelz the other day, when they came out with a factoid during an autobiography that I thought would make a great trivia question - and could win you a drink in your local bar, if they ever re-open. 

Who is the only U.S. Congressperson to ever have a #1 hit on Billboard's Hot 100?

It seems a lot harder at first glance than it is. Think about it for a second and then see the answer below.













It was Sonny Bono, who served California in Congress from 1995 until his death on a ski hill in 1998. He and Cher made it to the top of the Billboard chart in 1965 with "I Got You Babe." While they hit the Top 10 with other songs during their career, that was their only number one.
