PBS Series Spotlights Classic Rock Albums

PBS has picked up the rights to a British series called "Classic Albums" which promises to look behind the scenes at the making of some of the most iconic LPs in rock history.

From one of the PBS station sites:

"Each episode features interviews with band members, producers and others discussing the creation of the historic recording ... including Pink Floyd – Dark Side of the MoonFleetwood Mac – RumoursCarly Simon – No SecretsThe Who – Who’s NextElton John – Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, and Queen – A Night at the Opera."

It starts with John Lennon's first solo album "Plastic Ono Band.":

"The documentary features interviews with Yoko Ono, Ringo Starr, bassist Klaus Voormann, along with archival footage and recorded interviews with Lennon."

It begins airing this week on PBS stations across the U.S., but exactly when it's on in your area is up to your local channel. WNED, the Buffalo outlet, for example, is airing it Friday night at 9 P.M, whereas WOUB in  Athens, Ohio, has it on Thursday night at the same hour.

If this interests you, you should, as they say, check your local listings because PBS is notorious for not having a fixed schedule.
