The Real Dock Of The Bay In Otis Redding's "Dock Of The Bay"

There are a few interesting facts in this story to me. For one, Otis Redding's wife didn't much care for "Dock of the Bay" when he previewed it for her.

And that famous fade-out?

"The iconic whistling at the end was originally intended as a placeholder, which the singer planned to re-record in a final version. But he never had the chance, dying in a tragic plane crash just days after the recording session in 1967 at the age of 26."

I found the Bay Area dock where Otis Redding wrote his final song
