This is a Czech recording from 1978, is the tune taken from abroad?

I'm not sure if the melody was composed in the Czech Republic or was taken from abroad.
It sounds like a musical song to me.
If it's from abroad - do you have any idea what song it is originally?
Thank you.

I got it! It popped into my mind the moment I left this forum.

Yes, that's definitely it ... nice version of the song. There's some interesting info at https://tinyurl.com/wwmdcwjr about the song, and at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linda_Laurie about its writer.

The one song for mroldies that I would have been able to identify!

You know, that 's one of my goals.  To be the first to identify a mroldies song.

Yes, that's how I felt about finally identifying one of his songs. I hope that you will also come to experience that same kind of satisfaction.

To quote Neil Packman's favorite band, I can't get no satisfaction.

But you try, and you try, and you try, and you try ... yes, I can see why that song would come to mind.

I think you misunderstood me.  I still have the goal, a personal goal, to be the first to answer a particular song before others do.  mroldies' songs are truly difficult.  To be able to answer first (or be the only one) would be an achievement.

Good job on answering one.

What you said really made sense to me, given that I still haven't identified one myself from just hearing the song. When I saw mroldies followup in this case, I wished that I'd seen his original post before he figured it out. But at least this shows that there's hope for us yet.

I feel better now.

I just got lucky that he posted a song I knew because Mon was an Engelbert fan.  If it hadn’t been for the instrumental lead in, I still might not have recognized it.
