Happy New Year everyone! Thanks to Tom Diehl for turning me on to oldies online radio station WIWS via Deke Dickerson on Facebook. A lot of the playlist seems to be early 60's, just before I seriously started to tune into radio, but the classic AM sound is very cool. During a spot for the station they mention that they broadcast from "The historic Mclain Building in Beckley West Virginia", and perhaps my underground radio buddy can provide a bit more background.    https://wiwsradio.com/

Interesting information, but useless for me.
Unfortunately, I get an announcement - "This station is unavailable for streaming in your country".

The fact that Roman and I can access it means that it is available in Canada as well as the US, so the info is useful to most people here -- but you must be geoblocked. I had the same thing happen to me recently with regards to something that was posted here and I thought about saying something, but I already knew that there are ways around this and I wasn't interested enough to pursue them. However, I just did a search with regards to geoblocking of radio stations and the following site came up ... again, it's not something that I've ever done, so I'm just passing it along in case it's of any interest.

Yes, it requires changing the computer's IP address. And this can be done using a VPN.

Right, that's what I've read on my local radio/tv forum. Maybe someday I'll be motivated enough by something to do this, but so far I haven't been especially since I only encounter it occasionally.

Re: Wiws

WIWS is run by John and Chrissy Sellards. John, by the way, did the artwork for the Ronnie Dove cd we put out through Real Gone Music in 2014.
