Why Three Dog Night's Lead Singer Is Still Upset About The Song "One"

Chuck Negron did the lead vocal honors on one of Three Dog Night's biggest and first hits, "One," a tune written by Harry Nilsson. But he says all these years later, there's still something about the ending he doesn't like.

"When I heard the first playback, I said, “Oh my God, I think we have a hit.” But I wanted to fix the ending because I was off a bit. The producer said no, that’s real. I said, “Yea, it’s real, I’m off [laughs].” He never let me fix the ending, which really annoys me because I could have gotten it perfect."

Think about that the next time it comes on your local oldies station.
