Elvis songwriter Mike Stoller looks back on his hits

He's 89 now, but has an amazing lifetime of writing some of the big hits in history to reflect on.

Re: Elvis songwriter Mike Stoller looks back on his hits

The Elvis movie seems to have brought Stoller back in a big way. In this extensive Variety interview, he talks about writing some of The King's most iconic tunes in about 15 minutes, why he got trapped in a hotel room and wound up composing several famous songs while waiting to get out, and how he and his partner demanded a listing as producers on some the records they helped make - a credit that wasn't afforded to "writers" back then.

Not to mention a famous 70s hit you probably never realized he had a big hand in.

Just saw the movie last night. I must admit I was impressed with Hank's role as Parker. There were a couple of errors and a couple of facts left out but all in all it was a hit. Austin Butler was excellent.
