Aflem's recent topic got me thinking about some of the one-hit wonders (a hit being defined as a song that made the top forty) who had other songs that, although they didn't make the top forty, were good songs and deserved a better fate.
Ronnie Hawkins
"Mary Lou" got to #26, but "Forty Days" (great rockabilly) only got to #45. Hawkins had seven songs make the top 40 in Canada.
Mark Dinning
Teen Angel was a #1 hit, but two fo his other songs, "The Lovin Touch" (only reached #84) and "Top Forty News Weather and Sports" (only reached #81) IMHO should have been hit songs as well.
The Exciters
Their great song "Tell Him" got to #4, but two other lower charted tunes, "Get Him" (#76) and "He's Got the Power" (#57) deserved to make the top forty. Brenda Reid's voice was amazing.

A rew more additions to this list - songs that that should have made the top forty and therefore would have removed their singers from the one-hit wonders list.
The Raindrops (Ellie Greenwich and Jeff Barry) rose to #17 with He's The Kind Of Boy You Can't Forget,. What A Guy was just as good but just missed the top forty at #41.
The Cleftones reached reached #18 with their version of Heart and Soul, but their follow-up record, an interesting uptempo doo-wop version of For Sentimental Reasons, only got to #60.
The Cascades had a big hit with Rhythm of the Rain (#3), but their two follow-ups, equally deserving songs IMHO, were not successful. Shy Girl only reached #91, while The Last Leaf got to #61.
