Jeff Beck, guitar virtuoso who influenced generations, dead at 78

Jeff Beck, a guitar virtuoso who pushed the boundaries of blues, jazz and rock 'n' roll, influencing generations of shredders along the way and becoming known as the guitar player's guitar player, has died. He was 78.
Beck died Tuesday after "suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis," his representatives said in a statement released Wednesday.

Re: Jeff Beck, guitar virtuoso who influenced generations, dead at 78

Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton were not only in one of the greatest blues rock bands of all time, The Yardbirds, those three were in the Top 5 of 2015 Rolling Stone Magazine's Top 100 guitarists of all time listing.  As if that's not enough, Jeff Beck's last appearance on an album was on Ozzy Osbourne's newly released (September 2022) super album "Patient Number 9."  Eric Clapton had a super solo on one of the tracks from that album and Jeff Beck had super solos on two of the tracks from that same album.  And they are spectacular guitar solos!!  Not to mention Jeff's electrified guitar overture of Puccini's 'Nessum dorma'  WOW!!
