For most of us, Elton John began his career with "Your Song" in 1970, which sent his future off and running. But he was around and playing before that under his real name, Reginald Dwight, with a group called Bluesology. One of his very early but minor hits turned up on YouTube, letting you hear the future Elton in a very unique way.
Notice that the writing credit on the label clearly reads "Reg Dwight." It's an interesting glimpse into a very early part of a career that would wind up spanning over 60 years - and counting. Check out "Come Back Baby" in the days before he became a superstar. You can kind of hear it in this tune - although clearly, he wasn't there quite yet. But it's a tantalizing peek into the future.

Not to highjack the thread but anyone ever see Rowen Atkinson do his interview with Elton John?

Most performers sound a little different at the beginning of their career than they do later in their heyday - as we're used to hearing them.
Kate Bush is an exception. I like her from the beginning and I wouldn't change a thing about her singing.
