Darlene Love's “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” for 2024

Although Darlene Love performed her Christmas classic last week on The Tonight Show, I thought I'd wait until today to post it ... it's as good a way as I know of to wish everyone here a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. She delivers yet another amazing performance, backed up this year by Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul as well as Paul Shaffer.

Re: Darlene Love's “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” for 2024

For whatever reason I can't explain, one of my favorite Christmas treats is hearing Karen Carpenter sing "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town".  I find her singing reaches in to a solitary part of my mind and soothes my anxieties of the day.  I'll also mention another favorite..."The Bells Of St. Mary" by Bobb B. Soxx. It's the perfect example of the "wall of sound" from Phil Spector!
